Happened to a physician with a non-medical-care issue in South Dakota who was sent by the medical board (SDBMOE) to Acumen in Kansas. She obtained a "good-to-go" discharge from Acumen Assessments but during a later re-licensing hearing a psychiatrist from Acumen, Dr. John Whipple, testified that she could not be trusted to care for patients -- to the astonished cries of her supporters. She was refushed a license renewal but higher court action ($$$) resulted in her being able to be licensed in Florida where she now practices.
When I engaged the SDBMOE to renew my license, I was told to get a "forensic fitness test" at AScumen Assessments...I took retirement...
Dr. Manion, It is so good to hear from you. Your description of the workings of the medical committees is so completely accurate. I have had some interesting twists in my case. Both of my legs have been amputated, related to what was done to me. Doctors in Seattle said they had never seen such a case. And my wife died of cancer. The hospice said they were afraid of me, based on my case, I guess. I did not see my wife for the last 6 months of her life, The amount of damage they can do is extraordinary. They have no limit.
Welcome back and thanks for being a voice of reason. What action would you suggest for physicians outside of CA at the current time. Thanks for being the canary in the coal mine for us.
